Canonical Equivalence Relations on Nets

We give a list of canonical equivalence relations on discrete nets of the positive unit sphere of c0. This generalizes results of W. T. Gowers [1] and A. D. Taylor [5].

N ov 2 00 7 Orbit equivalence for Cantor minimal Z 2 - systems

We show that every minimal, free action of the group Z2 on the Cantor set is orbit equivalent to an AF-relation. As a consequence, this extends the classification of minimal systems on the Cantor set up to orbit equivalence to include AF-relations, Z-actions and Z2-actions.

A canonical graphical syntax for non-empty finite products and sums

Cockett and Seely recently introduced a Lambek-style deductive system for finite products and sums, and proved decidability of equality of morphisms. The question remained as to whether one can present free categories with finite products and sums in a canonical way, i.e., as a category with morphisms and composition defined directly, rather than modulo equivalence relations. This paper shows t...

Canonical rational equivalence of intersections of divisors

We consider the operation of intersecting with a locally principal Cartier divisor (i.e., a Cartier divisor which is principal on some neighborhood of its support). We describe this operation explicitly on the level of cycles and rational equivalences and as a corollary obtain a formula for rational equivalence between intersections of two locally principal Cartier divisors. Such canonical rati...

FUZZY SUBGROUPS AND CERTAIN EQUIVALENCE RELATIONS

In this paper, we study an equivalence relation on the set of fuzzysubgroups of an arbitrary group G and give four equivalent conditions each ofwhich characterizes this relation. We demonstrate that with this equivalencerelation each equivalence class constitutes a lattice under the ordering of fuzzy setinclusion. Moreover, we study the behavior of these equivalence classes under theaction of a...
